Heatwave Show Band operates two professional youth bands, the original band is part of the music program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley, California. Under the direction of Jim Little, the original band was formed in the fall of 2007, and at that time was dubbed the Boys & Girls Club Jazz Band.

Heatwave South: Heatwave Show Band from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley is an award winning group of professional young musicians.  Members come from schools throughout the Coachella Valley, some with several years of experience looking to hone their craft, and some with little or no experience. The band has developed a wide repertoire of music from 40s big band through to current pop. Whether the gig calls for background music for your dinner or cocktail party, music to dance to, or a floor show, Heatwave can provide just the right blend of music for your entertainment needs. We’ve got horn driven R&B funk charts by current acts like Bruno Mars or classics like Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Tower of Power. A half-hour assembly performance by a professional trio. Heatwave North: The Heatwave Show Band is a professional youth performance group, pulling from the best musicians in Vancouver and Portland to put on a fun, Vegas-styled show. Just as a professional band would, we book gigs at local hot spots and private events, record albums, and go "On the Road"! With the support of parents and the community we provide after-school programs to cultivate artists while focusing on current music, and giving our talented, local youth a glimpse into the exciting life of being a professional musician. Our mission is to help young aspiring musicians play live gigs and perform at a professional level.
