Funding for fine arts education in the public school systerm has steadily decreased in the last several years forcing school board
members and school administrators to make some difficult
decisions regarding school music programs. Many choose,
regrettably, to cancel music programs citing budgetary concerns,
or a need to focus on core subjects such as math, science, and
reading during the school day.
-
An ideal solution for these schools would be a program that
exposes students to music, takes place during a time that will not
interfere with their regular classes, and will not cost the school a
penny.

The Band Program from Music Educational Services is
designed to provide two hours of instruction per week to each
student at no cost to
the school.
Classes take place
before or after school, (depending on scheduling) and are provided by qualified
music instructors
who are specifically
trained to help
students learn the skills necessary to perform on their instruments. Music Educational Services is able to provide an opportunity for students and their parents to rent a musical instrument at a competitive rate,
and fund the Band Program, with no cost to the school.
-
Teamwork is an overriding theme throughout the Music
Educational Services Program. Our instructors use a team
teaching method to provide the best instruction to each group
camradrie as they prepare for group performances and the
unstoppable team of Music Educational Services instructors,
school administrators, and parents will help support the
students as they broaden their horizons and develop into the
bright and cultured citizens of tomorrow.

- Students involved in the Music Educational Services Program have several opportunities to perform throughout the school year. Many performances will require students to use their teamwork skills, (such as music festivals and parades) while other will champion individual achievement and determination (district and state solo competitions, a unique opportunity for elementary aged students).
- Researd has repeatedly shown that music education is beneficial to a student's intellectual development. Recent research by Dr. E. Glenn Shellenberg at the University of Toranto was preseneted in Scientific Review of Mental Health Practice showed a direct link between music education in children and an increase in IQ point.
